About

Main website: www.thomaspickard.com

Thomas is a photographer who is building a solid reputation as a person that delivers diverse and captivating photography for his clients. Whether he is documenting commercial pole and line fishermen in the middle of the Indian Ocean for Sri Lankan Airlines Magazine, or capturing a couple tying the knot on a secluded tropical island, Thomas works with vision and finesse to get the job done.

Thomas splits his time between working as a freelance photographer for publications such as Sri Lankan Airlines Magazine, photographing weddings, pursuing his own photographic projects and working as an Assistant Expedition Leader in the high Arctic during the northern hemisphere summer.

Thomas is accustomed to the rigors of regular travel, having worked in some of the most remote corners of the globe. In the last five years (2003-2007) he has completed two multi-month trips to Antarctica, spending weeks at a time working in remote field camps; he has spent three months working in the high Arctic (Svalbard and east Greenland) and lived for two years in the Maldives, with regular trips to Sri Lanka and Northern India.

When not travelling abroad, Thomas calls Christchurch New Zealand home.

Thomas is a member of Editorial Photographers USA.
